It is well-known that municipals and industrials waste water treatment plants generates odours that may be strong, persistent and a nuisance to employees, residents and industries located near these plants.
Odours are produced at varying levels throughout the waste water treatment process.
The main odours-generating areas of the process are pump stations, clarifiers, bioreactors, aerations tanks, lagoons and sludge handling areas.
Odours that are generally associated with this process include hydrogen sulphide, ammonia and mercaptan.
Each plant has its own problems with odours which can be eliminated by means of the use of Super-F at strategic locations.
Wastewater :
Typically, we recommend two basic approaches to control odours from waste water effluents using either our SF-WF5 or our SFA Plus-WF5S.
SF-WF5 is a surface active formula where by the odours neutralizing actives are dispersed on the surface of the wastewater neutralizing the offensive odours and gases as they are emitted at the water surface. SF-WF5 is used to treat malodorous from pump stations, aeration tanks and lagoons.
SFA Plus-WF5S is a solution active formula incorporating surfactant to permit the odours neutralizing actives to enter into and stay in solution in the wastewater neutralizing odours in the water phase. SFA Plus-WF5S exhibited sludge penetration and mobilizing capabilities in some systems promoting cleaning of systems tanks and piping.
Alternatively, we treat malodorous in the atmosphere by erecting a barrier of nozzles at strategic points in periphery of the source of odours using our SFA PLUS WF5S A.
Sludges :
Odours emitted by sludge in wastewater treatment process have been a concern since a long time. The sludge are particularly malodorous. Because the activated sludge tank can be both large and uncovered, odours emissions can be a major embarrassment. The transportation of sludge causes annoyance about the release of odours.
Consequently, Super-F products are appropriate and simple solution to counter the disadvantages brought by sludge management. The results are up to the objectives permitting odours neutralisation and avoid complaints from citizens and thereby respect their environments.
Into waste water treatment plant, to neutralize odours emitted by the sludge, we use our SFA Plus-888 NF. This formula is applied into liquid, semi-liquid or solid sludge. When the sludge are in liquid form into tanks, we apply the Super-F solution with spray nozzles. When the sludge are directed to drying beds, we inject directly into sludge's piping with a dosing pump.
SFA Plus-C107 : Particularly used to neutralize odours emitted by water from belt-press and sludge. Also injected into problematic areas where the odorous and gases emissions (NH3, H2S and mercaptans) are perceived.
The main steps of solids wastes management includes odorous phases. The frequents points of emissions are municipals sludge, domestics and industrials wastes collection, wastes storage along with composts are sources of concern for workers and for the community.
The activities surrounding the burying of solids wastes are known to produce strong odours. The main sources of atmospherics emissions are landfills sites and leachates ponds.

Super-F control smelly emissions from these places. After selecting the appropriate formula, we atomize a made up solution obtained from the concentrate product whose ratio of dilution can reach 1 : 20 000.
SF-HPY & SFA Plus-HPS : Large spectrum formulas having the needed proprieties to neutralize odors and to reduce gases emissions generated by landfills, compost sites, garbage's containers and piles or any solids wastes.
SFA Plus-888 NF : Is a formula having the needed proprieties to neutralize odors and to reduce gases emissions emitted by liquid, semi-liquid or solid wastes from municipal garbage's truck, transfer sites, garbage's containers and piles, landfills, compost, lagoons, etc.
SFA Plus-FCG & Atom-X : Products are fogged around landfills and compost site's perimeter to neutralize emitted odors.
SFA Plus-LCH : Is for odors neutralization and gases emissions reduction emitted by compost, leachates and landfills.
SFW-5 : Is a vegetable oil base product for slow evaporation. Mostly aiming at odors neutralization and gases emissions reduction from garbage's piles, lagoons, etc.
Pulp and Paper industries raise concerns and complaints from workers and surrounding communities about the issue of atmospheric emitted odors. These plants produce particular odors, sometimes foul-smelling that affect their environment.
These undesirable odors come from chemical reaction of kraft process which emit hydrogen sulfide and other sulfurs odors.
Various odors may be related to own sewage treatment plant and because of the bacteria growing in water recycling channels.
The pulp and paper industry generates significant amounts of sludge which emanate odorous nuisances.
Super-F technology interferes to treat the odors nuisances at various stages of pulp and paper manufacturing process.
SF-WBP : Designed for pulps and papers industry for « close circuit's water » to neutralize odors and to reduce gases emissions.
SFA Plus-W6040 : For odors neutralization and gases emissions reduction emitted by wastes waters from pulp and paper industry.
SF-HPW5S : This formula has a double function for the treatment of bottom sludge and surface residues. Used to neutralize odours and reduce the gases from sewage and sludge from pulp and paper industries.
Intensive processes of petrochemical industries require a demanding environmental management to protect water, soil and air pollution.
Oil refineries use very large quantities of water especially for cooling systems. A direct treatment of wastewater can reduce the intensity of odours to acceptable limits.
The treatment of odours is essential for the refiners who are trying to manage with more stringent regulations and improve the working conditions of employees and conditions of their locality.
Super-F Fragrance Inc provides a number of solutions for wastewater treatment.
Our technology supports the community to neutralize odours from storage tanks, transhipment operations of petroleum products, chimneys, catalytic reactors, gas recovery process along with solids wastes and sludge.
SF96-C107 : Formula to neutralize odors emitting from paints, solvents, asphalts along with various compounds from petrochemical industries.
SF96-Mercaptan « S » : Used for mercaptans odors neutralization and gases emissions reduction during normal work operations and repairs for natural gas companies, refineries and other source in the oil and gas industry.
SF96 Z5C « S » : Typically for odors neutralization and gases reduction such as ammoniac, hydrogen sulfide, mercaptans emitted by fuel, lubricants, and other products from waste oils refining, refineries and other petroleum products.
SFW-Bunker : Odors neutralizer product for bunker storage tank and refined oils.
The agricultural types of odors come mainly from buildings, manure storage tank and spreading activities.
Fertilizing residuals matters coming from various processes are also source of nuisances. In addition to odours, various agricultural activities can sometimes give rise to concentrations of harmful gases such as ammonia.
These emissions are the cause of major conflicts between the producers and their neighbourhoods.
The common objective is to eliminate all the damage to the environment from harmful elements such as odours and gases.
To achieve this objective, Super-F formulas for the agricultural sector have been specifically designed to reduce odours and gas concentrations emanating from the industry.
SFA Plus-K100 : Regularly employ for odors neutralization and gases reduction (NH3) generated inside agricultural buildings. To treat hogs, cattle, livestock or any kind of manures. Also have ability to dissolve agricultural sludge.
SFA Plus-K123 : Use to neutralize odors and reduce gases (NH3) emitted by fermented manures at spreading time.
SFA Plus-1263 : Specially conceived to neutralize odors and to reduce ammoniac (NH3) emitted by the poultry industry.
